Dr. Aziz began as a 1,000-square-foot pharmacy in 1988, staffed by one employee: the founder, Hamid Abbaspour. With a passion for serving the terminally ill and chronically ill, Dr. Aziz Pharmacy treated AIDS patients in the ’90s who often had nowhere else to go. The pharmacy was named in honor of the founder’s late brother, Dr. Aziz Abbaspour. Though he lost his battle to cancer, his contributions to the medical field and his passion for helping others are what continue to inspire Dr. Aziz’s philosophy today and our commitment to providing the best service we can. For over 30 years, we have been dedicated to your health by continuing to expand our care through a medical practice, customized compounding, medical equipment and supplies, nutritional support, and more. Life savers—literally! The only place in Indy that provided the medication compounding we needed and graciously and urgently compounded transdermal prednisolone for our cat who had developed an aversion to the pill form and was vomiting upon administration, causing her to lose a dangerous amount of weight. The pharmacist was extremely helpful and understanding, coordinated with our vet, and took the time to explain to us how to use it. Great people and an awesome place. Highly recommend!
A while back, as a new customer, I took in some prescriptions for very ordinary, generic, boring medicines I got from a hospital emergency room I had gotten a couple days before, and asked if they had them and if I could pick them up in a couple hours. They had an odd reaction like they had never seen a prescription before, and they took a while looking to see if they had the medicines. These were the two guy owners of the place. There were no other customers there. They said I could come back in a couple hours to get them, but acted puzzled like they didn’t know how to fill prescriptions. I came back in a couple hours, but they hadn’t even begun to fill them. They said they had to call either my insurance or the hospital (I forget which), which was fine, except they hadn’t bothered to do that in the couple hours since I brought them there. I sat down to wait, and I would swear they were in a panic about needing to fill my boring prescriptions. They did finally fill them even though they didn’t talk with the hospital or insurance company.
