I look for three things in my primary care doctor. The first is thoroughness, the second is being a good listener, and the third is he or she a caring doctor. i.e. do they follow-up. Took care of getting me an appointment for a test (mostly fully booked for several months) and advised me on the bladder problem and hernia before having me go to my urologist and surgeon. Saw me the day after I returned from a month away, which expedited the whole procedure, which has taken two months but is about over. Has a very concerned and understanding manner and really wants to help. Her office staff, several of whom I have known for many years, are a real asset.
